Comments by Mrs. Monty - Our ward belongs to the Inglewood Stake in California and this year's YW camp was at Camp Josepho. Its originally a boy scout camp but we were able to use this year, it was fun!!!

Comments by Carolyn - Our ward YW camp was held at Palomar Mountain State (California) Park in North San Diego county. It was beautiful. Real mountains!! The elevation and the huge trees blocked the heat and we hiked along a stream that ended in a lake. We were in a group camp and were basically alone as far as people next to us. It is tent camping only, with full bathrooms and showers. Close enough to “home” that Priesthood, leaders or girls could commute if necessary, but far enough away that we weren’t camping in our own back yard. We would definitely go there again.

Comments by Jodi - We had Girls Camp at "Success Loop", past cave lake, about 25 minutes from where we live in Ely, Nevada. This year the wild flowers were everywhere, they were amazing, breath taking!

Comments by Brandy - Freemont Indian State Park has an awesome group site with restrooms, showers, volleyball court, horse shoe pits, and a pavilion and it's super cheap. The cheapest place we found, but they were booked the week we needed them. They have great hikes and a great museum available.

The girls/leaders sleep in cabins, there are nice restrooms, showers, and even kitchens available for cooking. There is a lake with canoeing and paddle boats, a challenge course (low and high ropes), service projects available, hikes galore, and it's beautiful!

Comments by Janet - This summer, it was ward camp, and we tried out a new camp. It was called Reid Ranch, 13 miles above Fruitland, Utah. It was a beautiful area in the Uintah Mountains. They have lodges with bunk beds, and a wonderful camp cook that cooks every meal for you. We called it our "spa camp" since it was pretty luxurious as a camp! (We decided to go a little easier this year, since we had Pioneer Trek also.) They have activities galore: sports court, soccer field, archery, campfires, horseback riding, etc. The girls can't wait for another opportunity to go back again. It cost about $110 per girl for 2-1/2 days.

Comments by Brandy - They have a great camp site for a ward girls camp, but it couldn't accommodate more than that. It's actually on a ranch and tucked up a canyon, behind the ranch. This is my hometown!! We took our girls there this year and we had access to a pavilion, bathrooms and showers. There is so much to do around that area. We hiked to the Cascade falls, which is beautiful! You're close to Big Rock Candy Mountain, Freemont Indian State Park, Cove Fort, Fishlake, and lots more!

Comments by Brandy - Here is a great website that you can use to go and check for campgrounds in your area and what amenities are available. I looked at lots of different sites all over the state when we planned our ward girls camp this past summer.
